a thought that came

into my head

one afternoon

when i was just a little boy

right beneath the weeping willow

it was a glimpse

of my life ahead

of the tears I’ll shed

and the wife i’ll bed

and my family

but it seemed so far away

because every second ticks by

so slow when you are young

it seemed like forever until I would turn 21

but the years went by

and the same old tree

looked down at me

later on i turned 25
